Funmart, an Amazon reseller of tablets and other electronic devices, has introduced a new pico projector, the Mini Portable Pico Projector. The new LCOS projector uses LED’s to produce a VGA (640×480) resolution image. Brightness specifications were not disclosed. The built in 4GB Personal Media Player (PMP) features a microSD card slot, USB input and can display popular image and video files. The 1,900 mAH Li-ion battery provides up to 2 hours of viewing time. The miniMP is available now at a retail price of US$269.
Given the myriad of higher resolution LCOS and DLP imager chips available to projector designers, it is surprising how many new VGA and sub-VGA projectors have been uncovered recently by PMA’s projector market research.
